Little Movers: Dance Classes for Toddlers and Preschoolers at All That Jazz Singapore
Mathew Ward • March 14, 2026
Those first few years of a child's life are filled with curiosity, energy, and an incredible capacity to learn. At All That Jazz, our Little Movers programme is designed to capture that magic and channel it into something truly special — a love of dance that starts early and lasts a lifetime. For children aged two to six, Little Movers is where the dance journey begins.
What Is the Little Movers Programme?
Little Movers is our carefully designed early childhood dance programme that nurtures confident, expressive, and joyful young dancers through a balance of structure and imagination. With ballet, jazz, tap, and acro forming the pillars of the curriculum, the programme supports the development of each child's coordination, musicality, and movement quality while maintaining what matters most at this age — fun, curiosity, and a love for dance. The programme is adapted from the ISTD syllabus for ballet, the ADAPT syllabus for jazz and tap at the Mini levels, and Rambert Grades for contemporary. This provides an internationally recognised and progressive framework that builds essential fundamentals in a well-rounded and inclusive structure.
What Sets Little Movers Apart
The thing that makes Little Movers truly special is our storyline-based learning approach. Every lesson is integrated with imaginative themes, characters, and playful missions. Rather than learning steps in isolation, children learn movement through storytelling. This approach helps children retain choreography more naturally, understand intention and dynamics, and stay engaged for longer periods. A child who is pretending to be a swan gliding across a lake is not just practising balance and poise — they are building an emotional connection to movement that makes the learning stick.
The Little Movers Levels
The programme is organised into four progressive levels. Family Fun (ages two to three) is a 45-minute parent-accompanied class that introduces little ones to movement through music, play, and storytelling. It builds early confidence, coordination, and listening skills while strengthening parent-child bonding. Twinkle Tots (ages three to four) is the first independent class, where children learn basic dance foundations through imaginative themes and guided movement exploration. It supports coordination, musicality, and focus while developing positive classroom habits. Twinkle Stars (ages four to five) is a more structured level that develops stronger technique, control, and movement memory through longer routines. Children improve musicality, confidence, and performance skills while building a stronger foundation for future training. Mini Ballet, Jazz and Tap (ages five to six) introduces more formal technique in an age-appropriate way, supported by the ISTD and ADAPT syllabi. This 90-minute class covers 30 minutes each of ballet, jazz, and tap.
The Benefits Beyond Dance
Little Movers is about much more than teaching children to dance. The programme develops coordination and psychomotor skills, builds social confidence, nurtures creativity and self-expression, and empowers each child to share their unique personality through movement. Children in the programme learn to follow instructions, work alongside peers, take turns, and express themselves in a safe, supportive environment. These are foundational life skills that benefit them well beyond the dance studio.
How We Keep Parents Connected
We know parents want to see their child's progress. Throughout the year, Little Movers includes parent viewing sessions so you can watch your child in action. Teachers also record monthly class videos uploaded to dedicated Dropbox folders, so you can see what happens in class even if you cannot be there in person. Our teachers are always available via email to discuss your child's progress and involvement in class.
